From Our Mountain to Yours

Presentation by Annie and Glen Chilcote



The Chilcotes teach elementary general music in Montgomery County Public Schools in beautiful southwestern Virginia. Annie has been a traveling teacher in the county with a unique schedule and various classroom settings at several different schools, causing her to be very flexible! Glen teaches at Kipps Elementary School in Blacksburg, VA. He leads four extra-curricular instrumental groups, including a recorder club, a drum club, and two Orff Ensembles. Annie and Glen both serve as officers with the Virginia Highlands chapter of AOSA and are WVU graduates!



Description: The focus of the workshop is lessons that reach a wide variety of learning styles, since Annie and Glen teach such an array of abilities. In addition to that, they will be sharing some tried and true lessons and a little jazz. There will be a movement focus for some portions of the workshop, so comfortable clothes are encouraged!
