Saturday, October 22, 2011 9:00-1:00pm Mountainview Elementary School Mr. Foley: is the director of Theory in Motion, a musicianship program for students in grades 1-6, at the Eastman Community Music School. He holds three levels of certification in the Kodály Approach, and three levels of certification in Orff Schulwerk. He has presented on the Kodály Approach for the Rochester Area Council of Administrators of Music Education and at various venues in New York State including the Eastman School of Music, Nazareth College, and the Greece Central School District. Additionally, he has presented on beginning improvisation techniques for the Eastman Community Music School and teaching the struggling sight-reader as a clinician for ACDA, the Pittsford School District and the Guilderland Central Schools in New York State. He also has presented on combining Orff and Kodály in the elementary classroom at the 2008 national American Orff-Schulwerk Association conference and is scheduled to present on this topic for several Orff chapters throughout the United States. Adam is a K-5 elementary vocal music teacher in the Gates Chili Central School District in Upstate New York and is currently a PhD candidate in Music Education at the Eastman School of Music where he has also completed his BM and MM. |
