Schulwerk "Spring"boards!
Explore the multiple springboards used to dive into a Schulwerk lesson. We will explore multiple starting points for a Schulwerk based lesson, starting with movement to process pieces,or objects as inspiration. Volumes material to folk songs, tools for students’ improvisations and more! We will sing, speak, move and play our way,through an exciting workshop day! Lessons are geared for students in grades K-5.
BethAnn teaches children in grades 4-6 in Streetsboro, Ohio. She is the former General Music chair for OMEA, and a past member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association's National Board of Trustees. She teaches Orff Schulwerk courses at Villanova University, Trinity University, and music training courses in Suzhou, and Jinin, China.

Spring Share ~ February 27th 9am-1pm
Join us in getting many tried-and-true lesson ideas for use in the general music classroom! Several of our chapter members have agreed to share some of their favorite real-world lesson plans with us involving singing, speaking, playing instruments, and dancing. You will leave with a packet of ideas ready for use in the kindergarten through middle school general music classroom!

Michael Beyl Workshop Cancelled
Tomorrow's workshop with Michael Beyl has been cancelled. Michael called from the airport to let us know that his flight from Memphis has been cancelled and no other flights are available until tomorrow which would be too late. This workshop will be rescheduled in the near future. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sing-A-Book; Play-A-Book
Michael Beyl will be presenting our Fall 2009 workshop on October 10! Please join us from 9-1 at Mountainview Elementary as we learn Michael's strategies for incorporating children's literature into the general music classroom!

Drummer Hoff – Barbara Emberley
When Winter Comes – Nancy Van Laan
Michael Beyl is in his 23rd year as a music teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Masters of Music from the University of Memphis. He has taught at all levels of music from K-12 at various schools in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee. Currently he is an Orff music specialist at John P. Freeman Optional School with the Memphis City Schools. He has published one book, entitled Four in a Boat and 10 other songs girls and boys will love. You can find the book online at www.sistersquared.com. He has completed Orff-Schulwerk Levels I, II and III as well as master class from the University of Memphis. He has presented sessions at the AOSA Conferences in Las Vegas and Birmingham, as well as at local chapters in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
